2.3.5.5. Elizabeth Forsyth (1892-1968)

Elizabeth Forsyth was on 16 January 1892 at her parents' home on 165 Brook Street in Glasgow. Her parents were Robert and Elizabeth (Riddell) Forsyth and her father was a carter. By 1901 the family lived on 14 Margaret Street. In 1911 Elizabeth lived with her family at 230 Holm Street and worked as a picture frame finisher. Two of her sisters also worked at the picture frame factory.

On 27 October 1916 she married John Duffy Gemmell at 47 Clarence Street in Glasgow according to forms of the Congregational Union Church. She was 24 years old, lived at 47 Clarence Street, and still worked as a picture frame finisher. The couple had at least one son, William Gemmell, who was the informant listed on both his parents' death registrations.

Elizabeth (Forsyth) Gemmell lost her husband in 1954. She died on 18 January 1968 at 90 Westmoreland Street, Rutherglen, Scotland. The address appears to be a private residence. Her usual address at the time of her death was 266 Main Street, Rutherglen, which was about 3 miles from where she died. She was 76 years old and died of congestive cardiac failure and hypertension.
