Edna May (Simpson) Richmond Obituary

RICHMOND, Edna May Richmond, born on June 24, 1912 in Nanaimo, BC, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2000 in Nanaimo, BC. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in 1994. Edna is survived by her loving family; five children, thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four sisters, three brothers, numerous nice and nephews, other family and good friends.

Born and raised in Nanaimo, Edna and Bill moved to Port Alberni where they raised their family on Pleasant Road. She was a homemaker and devoted mother throughout her life. She returned to Nanaimo in 1998 and resided at the Nanaimo Travellers Lodge. Edna was a member of the St. Andrew's United Church in Port Alberni and worked tirelessly with the Girl Guides in the Alberni Valley for many years.

A celebration of Edna's Life will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, One Newcastle Avenue, Nanaimo, BC, on Monday February 14, 2000 at 1:00 PM, with Reverend Mas Iwasawa officiating. A Reception will follow the Service. In lieu of flowers, for those so desiring, donations in memory of Edna, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
