2.3.4.2.1. Walter Frederick Colbourne (1912-1947)

Walter Frederick Colbourne was born on 14 October 1912 in Vancouver, British Columbia, to Frederick John and Jean Waring (Nation) Colbourne. His father died in 1936, and his mother married Eli McLallen.

Walter and Mary Riddell married the year before his father's death on 19 March 1935 in Victoria, British Columbia. He was 22 years old and worked as a grain operator. In 1940 the couple lived at 1857 Crescent Road, Apt. 3.  They still lived there when Walter died on 8 September 1947 in Jordan River. The truck he was driving went down a bank and Walter sustained fatal injuries to the back of his skull. He was buried on 11 September at Royal Oak Burial Park in Saanich.

His wife, Mary, 34 years old at the time of his death and left with two young children, who are still living.
