2.3.4.1.6. Catherine McCormick Douglas (1909-1931)

Catherine McCormick Douglas was born on 18 November 1909 at One Rutherford Lane in the Milton district of Glasgow. She was John and Agnes Riddell (McCormick) Douglas' sixth child. When the 1911 census was enumerated the family was still living at One Rutherford Lane.

Catherine married Ebenezer Hardie on 26 December 1930 at Milton Parish Church according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. Catherine was 21 years old and worked as a hardware saleswoman. Ebenezer was 22 years old and worked as a railway carter. They both lived at 29 Cowcaddens Road at the time of their marriage.

Catherine died eleven months after their marriage on 20 November 1931 of tuberculosis. She and Ebenezer lived at 3 Markinch Street in Glasgow, and she died at home. It is not known whether the couple had any children during their brief marriage.
