Margaret Richmond was born in 1922 in Nanaimo to Thomas and Catherine (Riddell) Richmond. She was their sixth and youngest known child.
Margaret and her mother, Catherine (Riddell) Richmond, returned to Scotland on 10 June 1928 aboard the S/S Melita, which sailed from Montreal. They traveled with Thomas' brother, John, and his wife Jessie. John had immigrated to Canada in 1923. The wife of Catherine's older brother, Robert, died in 1925. He immigrated to Canada in August 1928 and Catherine stayed with his children until they all went to Canada aboard S/S Montcalm. The party, including 4-year-old, Margaret, arrived at the port of Quebec on 21 September 1928.
In 1945 she lived with her parents in Quartway and served in the Canadian armed forces.
Alfred Henry Robert Diplock died on 29 October 2002 and Margaret (Richmond) Diplock, on 14 July 2004. Both died in Nanaimo.
