2.3.4.3.1. Sarah Jane Simpson (1914-2001)

Sarah Jane Simpson was born on 31 January 1914 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, to David Henry and Sarah Hannah (Frears) Simpson. Her parents had immigrated to Canada from Cumberland, England, near the Scottish border.

She married Robert "Bob" Richmond on 29 March 1934 at 300 Franklin Street in Nanaimo. She was 25 years old, lived on 537 Hamilton Avenue and worked as a housekeeper at the time of her marriage. She and Bob had several children. Their son, Alec died in November 1978.

In 1949 the family lived on 1575 Waddington Road in Nanaimo and by 1962 they had moved to 1046 Moyse Crescent in Nanaimo where they lived the remainder of their married life.

Robert Richmond died after a logging accident in 1971. The last record for Sarah Jane (Simpson) Richmond is a 1972 voters list, which indicated she continued to live at 1046 Moyse Crescent in Nanaimo.

Sarah died on 1 April 2001.
