2.12.3.3.7. Jerry Allen Muir (1943-1973)

Jerry Allen Muir was born on 12 August 1973 in Raven, Virginia. He was the youngest child of Robert Muir, Jr., and Sadie Viola Cline. His parents separated when Jerry was a year old and divorced in 1949.

He married Shirley Gay Short, daughter of Leonard Burke and Myrtle Vivian (Ball) Short, on 13 February 1965 in Raven. Jerry worked as a clerk at the time of their marriage. The couple had two sons.

Jerry was killed on 5 September 1973 in Whitewood, Virginia. He worked as a coal miner and was involved in an accident which crushed his chest, neck, and head. His youngest son was two years old at the time of his death. Jerry Allen Muir was interred at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.
