Children of Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie

2.3.7.6.1. Archibald McKechnie (1918-1986)

Archibald McKechnie was born in 1918 in Old Kilpatrick parish to Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie. He was born the same year his parents married and was their oldest child. Archibald was 14 years old when his mother died. He died in 1986 in Leicester, England. It is not known if he married or had children.

2.3.7.6.2. Margaret Brownlee McKechnie (1919-1979)

Margaret Brownlee McKechnie was born in 1919 in Old Kilpatrick parish to Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie. She was their second child and was named after her maternal grandmother. Margaret was 13 years old when her mother died. She married James Harkness in 1940 in Old Kilpatrick parish and died in the same parish in 1979 at the age of 60. Nothing is known about her husband or possible children.

2.3.7.6.3. Catherine Donaldson McKechnie (1921- )

Catherine Donaldson McKechnie was born in 1921 in Old Kilpatrick parish to Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie. She was their third child and was named after her paternal grandmother. Catherine was 11 years old when her mother died. She married William Hood Martin in 1940 in Old Kilpatrick parish.

William Hood Martin was born in the town of Dalmuir in Old Kilpatrick parish. When he was 20 years old, he traveled to Liverpool and boarded the S/S Axel Johnson on 16 September 1940. The ship arrived in Montreal on 30 September. It is not known how long he stayed in Canada but he had returned by 1944 when he married Catherine. William died in 1976 in Wycombe, England.

2.3.7.6.4. Henrietta Riddell McKechnie (1924- )

Henrietta Riddell McKechnie was born in 1924 in Old Kilpatrick parish to Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie. She was their fourth child and was named after her mother. Henrietta was 8 years old when her mother died. She married George J. Rice in 1945 in Old Kilpatrick parish.  He was born in 1924 in London, England, and died in 1967 in London. It is not known if Henrietta is still living or if the couple had children.

2.3.7.6.5. Mary McKechnie (1925-1955)

Mary McKechnie was born in 1925 in Old Kilpatrick parish to Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie. She was their fifth child and was 7 years old when her mother died. She married Henry Dempster Stuart in 1944 in Old Kilpatrick parish. He went by the nickname "Harry." Mary likely died in 1955 in Glasgow. She was 30 years old. It is not known if the couple had children. Harry remarried in 1962.

2.3.7.6.6. Thomas McKechnie (1927- )

Thomas McKechnie was born in 1927 in Old Kilpatrick parish to Archibald and Henrietta (Riddell) McKechnie. He was their sixth and youngest known child and was 5 years old when his mother died. His life after his mother's death remains a mystery.
