Bernice "Bessie" Onlee Sherman was born on 29 August 1917 in Dearborn, Michigan, to Frank W. Sherman and Florence M. Schornfeldt. When the 1920 census was enumerated the family lived on Ann Arbor Road and her father worked trimmer in a shop. In 1930 they lived in Plymouth and in 1935 in Adrian, Michigan.
Bessie married Arthur Louis Muir on 15 June 1938 in Inkster, Michigan. When the 1940 census was enumerated, they lived in Superior, Michigan, where Arthur worked as a glass inspector at an automobile factory. The couple had three children.
Arthur and Bessie must have lived in Florida at one time as Bessie applied for her Social Security card in 1970 in Florida.
Bessie (Sherman) Muir died on 17 July 2002. Her last Social Secuirty benefit was sent to Redford, Michigan.
