Children of Charles and Henrietta (Riddell) Findlay

2.3.2.1 Charles Findlay (1889-1951)

2.3.2.2 Martha Jane Mair Findlay (1890-1972)

Martha Jane Mair Findlay was born on 8 July 1890 in the village of Kirkton in East Kilbride. She was Charles and Henrietta (Riddell) Findlay's second child. She 14 years old when her mother died. When the 1911 census was enumerated, Martha Jane lived with her father and some of her siblings at 10 Main Street in the village of East Kilbride. She never married and died on 8 Jun 1972 in Hairmyres Hospital of peripheral circulatory failure, acute myocardial infarction, and urinary tract infection. She was 81 years old. Before her death, she had being living at Belmont House on Tasman Drive in East Kilbride. She was a retired office cleaner.

2.3.2.5 Henrietta Findlay (1896-1983)

2.3.2.6 Alexander Findlay (1900-1917)

Alexander Findlay was born on 18 October 1900 in the village of Kirkton, East Kilbride, to Charles and Henrietta (Riddell) Findlay. He was their youngest child. Before he was a year old, the family had moved to Strathaven Road in the village of East Kilbride.  Alexander lost his mother in 1904. Seven years after that tragedy the family lived at 10 Main Street in East Kilbride Village. After his schooling was completed, Alexander worked as a compositor. He died on 4 November 1917 at Shotts Sanatorium in Calderhead Parish. He suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis and tubercular peritonitis for several months, but two weeks before his death, he came down with the most virulent form of consumption -- tubercular meningitis. He had turned 17 years old the month before his death.
