2.3.4.3.2. William Richmond (1911-1994)

William Richmond was born in 1911 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, to Thomas and Catherine (Riddell) Richmond. He was their second child and their first born in Canada.

On 4 September 1919 William, his parents and siblings arrived in Glasgow, Scotland aboard the S/S Cassandra. They had sailed from Montreal and were going to Auchentibber to visit relatives. On 27 May 1920 William, his mother and siblings boarded the S/S Saturnia in Glasgow to return to Canada. They arrived in Quebec on 5 June 1920 and took the train to Nanaimo.

On 7 July 1934 William married Edna May Simpson at St. Paul's Church in Nanaimo. William was 22 years old and worked as a farm laborer. Edna was also 22 years old and worked as a domestic.

William died in 1994 and is buried in Nanaimo Municipal Cemetery and shares a headstone with his wife and father.
